Various Gobabis Gymnasium Students took part in sport during the September 2017 holiday. A few of them did very well.

Jonel Coetzee went to Belgium to take part in a Ladies Cup Endurance Ride. She then returned and took part in the Africa Endurance Championships at Walvis Bay . Here she won two awards; Namibian Junior Rider of the year and also Best Horsemanship.

–   Louis Peters took part in the Heath Streak Africa Cup 2017 in Zimbabwe.

–   Ryan Williams won gold in Shot put and Discuss at the Erongo National Open Athletic Championship.

–   Altus Opperman was Batsman of the tournament at the Momentum Cricket Week.

–   Christiaan Louw took part at a 77 20 Archery competition and won a silver medal.

–   Christiaan Barnard got a spot in the Namibian u/13 7’s rugby team. They took part in tournament in  Lesotho and the Namibian team then won the tournament.

–  Eugene and Lean Grobler were both in Namibian teams who took part in an Angling tournament against South Africa and Zimbabwe. Eugene was selected as Namibian Junior Angling Champion and his team won the gold medal. Lean’s team won the silver medal. These two students left Gobabis Gymnasium on a high note and has started the new term at Tsumeb Gimnasium.
